Tom Severson is the senior pastor of Vineyard Church of Elgin. He has been an Elgin resident since junior high, having attended Larsen Jr. High, Elgin High School, ECC and graduated from Judson College in 1981. He has been part of the Elgin Vineyard since it was planted and took over as Pastor of the church on Oct. 22, 1995. He also serves as the area pastoral coordinator for 6 other suburban Vineyard churches and their pastors. He was awarded alumnus of the Year from Judson College in 2002.
He has been married for over 26 years to his wife Jill who is also a lifelong Elgin resident. They have 7 children ranging in age of 9 to 25 years of age and have 2 grandchildren. Tom also serves on the Facilitation Committee of the Pastors Prayer Group in Elgin and seeks to build unity and joint cooperation with the community of faith throughout Elgin and the Fox Valley. Jason Patrick - Youth Ministry
Jason married his High School sweetheart Betsy in 1999. They live near the downtown area with their two children, Jessica and Jaden.
Jason has been a part of the Vineyard Church in Elgin since 1992. Coming up through the student ministries program at the time, Jason fell in love with the ministry. He jumped in to serve right after graduating High School, and from that time on he has been a part of the ministry. His heart and vision for teens from all walks of life is that they would experience the Father's great love for them, and through that love be transformed to look more like Jesus.
Jill Severson - Children’s Ministry
Jill happened to fall in love with a guy who was totally committed to Jesus Christ. Little did she know that he would end up pastoring the Vineyard church of Elgin. They have seven children and three grandchildren, all of whom she enjoys spending time with. She is continually in awe of the love of God.
Jill oversees the children's ministry at our church called Kingdom Kids. She works with a great staff of people who are all devoted to providing our kids a real chance to encounter God regularly.
Tim Pollard - Worship Team
Tim was born in the UK, where he spent a lot of his time playing guitar, running a small recording studio, and trying to become a rock-star! He came to Chicago in 1988 seeking to pursue a career in music, but friends brought him along to a local Vineyard church, where he soon had a life changing encounter with the Living Christ. At this point, Tim chose to pursue God instead of fame. He has been married to Michelle since 1989, and they have 5 children.
Tim has been the worship team director for several years, and really enjoys helping new musicians and leaders develop. Interestingly, some of the first people Tim met in Chicago were Tom and Jill Severson, little knowing at that time what the Lord was planning for their futures.
